LCBO strike: How grocers can place and receive orders

05 Jul 2024

Earlier this morning, LCBO issued a statement acknowledging the first strike in the history of our organization. As such, are activating our contingency plans for the continued service of our wholesale customers, including grocers.

Our priority is to ensure the best possible continued service. That said, it is not business as usual.

Last week, we shared information on how grocers would continue to place and receive orders. As of today, and through the duration of the strike:

- Ordering process: Grocers will continue to order through our Grocery Management System.

- Product availability: Grocers will continue to shop our curated catalogue of products.

- Order quantities: All products that are supplied by the LCBO will be shipped by the pallet, and order quantity is limited to one pallet per item. Products supplied outside of the LCBO can continue to be ordered by cases.

- Delivery: There are no expected changes to the delivery process or experience for grocers. Should delivery timelines be impacted because of higher-than-normal order volume, we will be in touch.

We did not want a strike at LCBO, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience and disruption this will cause. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

While we can’t predict how long the strike will last, we will keep customers informed via our website and social media channels. Information regarding the status of negotiations between LCBO and OPSEU will continue to be posted to LCBOnegotiations.com Our Customer Care team is here to help with any questions or concerns.

Thank you.
