We’ve been keeping you updated on the status of labour negotiations between LCBO and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and to share information on our contingency approach to supporting licensee customers should the union go on strike on Friday, July 5 (or any time after).
We’ve now issued some additional information on the preparations LCBO is putting into place, including that all LCBO retail locations would be closed for 14 days. While we continue to strongly recommend the timely placement of orders and for you to consider additional demand, we are sharing further information with our valued grocery customers regarding LCBO ordering in the event of a strike:
- Ordering process: Grocers would continue to order through our Grocery Management System as per the process today.
- Product availability: Grocers would continue to shop our curated catalogue of products during a strike.
- Order quantities: All products that are supplied by the LCBO will be shipped by the pallet, and order quantity is limited to one pallet per item. Products supplied outside of the LCBO can continue to be ordered by cases.
- Delivery: There are no expected changes to the delivery process or experience for grocers at this time. Should delivery timelines be impacted as a result of higher-than-normal order volume, we would be in touch.
Our negotiations with OPSEU resume next week and we remain committed to reaching an agreement. Updates will continue to be shared at LCBONegotiations.com.
In the meantime, our support for your business continues. Please contact lcbogroceryoperations@lcbo.com for administration inquiries, including claims and returns, invoicing, product recalls, and reports, or lcbohelp@tangentia.com for support with our Grocery Management System.
We will be in touch on any other matters that require your attention.
